Matt Cullen was born in Dublin and studied art history in Trinity College Dublin (TCD) as well as graduating with a BA (Hons) in Visual Art Practice from the Institute of Art and Design (IADT), Dun Laoghaire, in 2009. He received the prestigious Aileen Mac Keogh Memorial Award from the IADT at the conferring ceremony which was for the most outstanding student in 2009. His work has featured on the Late Late Show and has been purchased by both public and private collectors, as well as the IADT. Matt has had many exhibitions over the years, in venues such as the Bank of Ireland Art Centre, (College Green,) Ardgillan Castle, (Balbriggan,) and Dublin City Council Civic Offices, (Wood Quay.) He is inspired by the artwork of artists such as: M.C. Escher and Seurat. His recent work is central to his fascination with aspects of science, such as the notion of infinity and the creation of unusual perspectives from geometrical forms. The key intention of his current work is to metaphorically represent particles of matter in various geometrical forms as they float through space, intersect and cross one another.

Matt works with various mediums (i.e. oils, watercolours, acrylics, pen and ink,) and materials which involved the construction of three dimensional pieces as well as covering a broad range of subjects through the medium of 2D.
